Congress proposes several amendments to the U.S. Constitution each year. Please look at the latest proposals at the Library of Congress website: www.congress.gov. Type in the search box “constitutional amendments” and research and analyze the following debate questions. 1. What are the reasons why the U.S. Constitution has not been amended often? 2. What are the methods for proposing and ratifying amendments? 3. Were any amendments proposed or cosponsored by your state’s representation? If so, detail which one and your representative’s name. ** Note** For Question 3 I live in NJ and I m a democrat. You may use any amendment you feel is interesting from the state of NJ. Please only use the website to answer questions and your own words if you do not need to cite information. You should be able to answer the questions after visiting this site.
