In order to expand this to creative non-fiction, you want to think of this as a story you are telling. This is not a research or advocacy essay in which you are arguing a point of view. While you will have a main idea youre exploring in this essay, you want to focus on telling a story.

You want to use creative writing techniques (metaphors, descriptions, sensory language, etc) and remember that creative non-fiction is usually a personal narrative. Where are you in this story?
