Let’s regard the “Turbulent Twenties” has an outcome of how the U.S. political economy has been changing. Using two the readings that we covered for this week (excluding Goldstone and Turchin), how can we link these changes to the prospect of “Turbulent Twenties”? In other words, how did the whole neo-liberal turn in U.S. political economy, discussed in the readings for this week, get us to the point where we have entered into what Goldstone and Turchin call the “turbulent twenties?”

If the twenties unfold as these authors fear it might, it would be a continuation of changes in the U.S. political economy that have been ongoing since the 1970s.
